The XXXII Festival Foklórico international de Extremadura brings from today at the Group of seven countries for five days disseminated their dance and music by different parts of the city.
ReplyDeleteSome neighborhoods, downtown streets, town hall or auditorium Municipal Ricardo Carapeto will be different scenarios where these groups will exhibit its folklore. 'Somewhere in Badajoz to the 12 noon there will be an activity', according to the director of the festival, Rafael Maldonado.
This edition includes groups of Italy, United States, Romania, Honduras, Slovakia, Portugal and Russia. Spain will be represented by the band garden of souls of Trujillo (Cáceres), but also speak the Association of choirs and dances of Badajoz, which is the host, and as a special guest will act group of choruses and dances of the murcian city of Lorca.
Lorca will be present at the festival on the occasion of the tribute that will be devoted to this city, the earthquake on Saturday at the municipal Auditorium, where they will perform also Portugal and Russia. The amount collected in this gala will be donated by the festival to the people affected by the earthquake. Also mandated a zero row in an account opened with box Spain/Caja Duero for those wishing to contribute to this cause.
Rafael Maldonado presented, together with the director-general for Cultural promotion of the counseling of culture, Francisco Javier Alonso de la Torre, and the director of the theatre López de Ayala, Miguel Murillo, the programme of the festival, which because of the crisis has had to cut the number of groups and its duration. You will have two groups and two days less in this edition.
Honduras is participating for the first time in the festival, as well as the Group of Russia.
There will be 200 people, who have been housed in the University residence Hernán Cortés, which will be attended by more than 100 volunteers that collaborate in the organization.
Activities will begin today to the twelve in the morning with a meeting and workshops in the slums of San Roque, San Fernando and Valdepasillas. On Thursday, at the same time, groups parade by different parts of the city centre and 2230 hours will begin performances at the Auditorium, where will spend until Saturday all the groups, at the same time.
On Friday the festival will pay a tribute to the collective health, which has created a special choreography designed by John Seller and which will participate company amalgam of Lisbon.
Entries, at a price of 8 euros, are already on sale in the López de Ayala and the Auditorium.
